Trial Pricing Schedule

Posted on December 15, 2024December 15, 2024 by Kelsey Bacon

The pricing schedule below is a trial one, with possible changes coming in the new year of 2025, depending on market demands and the like. More photography offerings will be added as time goes on. For example, architectural photography.

I have updated the contact information on the contact page to include my phone number, and how to get me to reply. I have to screen calls like most everyone does these days. I don’t want to feed the trolls, as we say online, nor do I want to encourage the spammers to call more than they already do. And since I do value my time and yours, just a quick one-word text will get me to reply to talk about doing portraits.

Portraits is generally a change in direction for me in my work, but one I would like to make. I tend to find people fun and interesting and would like to subjugate them to my humor. Moreover, I am interested in working with people, rather than living the lonely life of a landscape photographer.

Help me to create my vision and I will help you to create yours. If I can use your photos on my website, I will offer a 25% discount on your photography session for individuals and family portraits. %15 off engagement, and 10% off wedding photographer’s fees.

PackagePriceDiscounted Price for Ad Use
Individual Portraits$150$112.50 = 25%
Family or Group Portraits$200$150 = 25%
Engagement Portraits$200$170 = 15%
Weddings and Events$2,000 and up$1,800 and up = 10%

Prices reflect the cost for the shoot to happen in the north end of Cache Valley, north of Airport Road. If I travel south of Airport Road, add $50. If I have to travel during “rush hour,” add $200. I am serious. Logan is terrible during that time. But outside of 4-4PM and 7-9AM, I am happy to travel for the charted fee + Airport Road designation fee.

These prices will be my first go at pricing portrait fees. They will reflect me arriving at a location and shooting Portraits, and providing the customer with Jpegs of the photoshoot, of 50% or more of the photos I take, with my discretion on quality. In other words, I get to keep the blurry ones and the improperly exposed ones back at a rate of up to 50%, though I doubt it will reach that amount. I will also shoot as many photographs as is reasonable depending on lighting and situational conditions. So, for example, a few shots in an unexpected rainout can be expected if that is reasonable. More if the conditions are better than that. We can work out discounts if things go horribly wrong in such a manner based on force major.

I produce roughly 45-megapixel jpegs, good for some pretty decent enlargements. This should produce perfect quality prints up to 20″ x 30″, and good quality prints larger, up to 40″ x 60″, for example.

The print quality goes down as the original images are cropped, for quality or composition reasons, or if I am shooting for example, a square format photo, for example. Some people like to replicate the format of a 120-film camera, such as a Hasselblad or Mamiya. My Nikon can produce great replicas, but not as good as the original. Alas, there is still nothing like a Hasselblad with a nice Zeiss, Planar Lens. But here we go.

If you are looking to photograph an LDS wedding, good news! The camera cannot go into the Temple, and neither can I! I won’t be requiring a space in your wedding party inside. I can happily wait for your arrival outside and shoot to your heart’s content on the Temple grounds. Additional fees may be required for shooting at a second venue on the day. All of that must be arranged in advance.

Let’s talk and see what you need for your shoot and finalize costs and expectations during our discussion. I am happy to record the session for our mutual agreement and protection. Be aware that in any circumstance it is required that I retain full creative control, including not taking advisors on the day. Future mothers-in-law and budding photographers and the like are asked to stay at bay.
